   DESCRIPTION OF TRIP

This is my favorite trip of all time.   The house in Uzes is a five-bedroom, five-bath house with an in-ground pool, located about 1 mile outside of the town center.  This will be my fourth trip to this house.  I opt to have the owners stay on the property (he's American and she's French) and it's a real plus.  They're very helpful to us and I usually arrange for our hostess to cook us several wonderful meals, which we reimburse her for.

The maximum for this trip is 11 people.  It's a less organized trip.  We take the train from the airport to Avignon where we pick up our three rental cars and drive to the house.  We decide each day where we're going, who's going in which car and whether we're meeting for dinner or not.

We spend our week in the house visiting the beautiful Provence countryside, visiting many markets as well as Roman ruins, a few museums, wine tasting, visiting a pottery village, possibly a cooking lesson.  Fabulous food whether we dine at home or at area restaurants.

You can also decide to just chill out at the house and hang out at the pool or walk into town.  It's very relaxing.  Lots of options without having to plan way in advance what we'll do each day.

At the end of our week we return our cars, take the train to Paris and a transfer company will meet us at the train and take us to our hotel which is located in a great area behind Sorbonne and the Latin Quarter.  The area has lots of great restaurants.

We'll be spending a week in Paris, so that will give everyone plenty of time to do the things they want to do.  Again, it's very unstructured, but many of us will be doing things together.  Being in Paris for a week gives us the opportunity to take day trips outside the city to Giverny (Monet's home) or Versailles, visit museums in the city or do some interesting walking tours.  My friend Holly was recently in Paris and she's discovered some great walking tours, including to chocolatiers.

I've been to Provence both in May and September and both are wonderful times to be there.  It should still be 70-80 degrees each day.  It's great to come back to the house after a day of sightseeing and take a dip in the pool.
